I’ve Been Gone, But Here I Am :) A Message To You

Hello to my followers, and guests! I have been M.I.A for a while. I have been very busy with graduate school, and teaching. I am in my last semester in the graduate program, and will be graduating with my Masters in May. So I have a lot of exams, research, and writing. I try to multitask as much as I can. But hopefully I will be back soon with my product reviews, clothing styles, and makeup. I have also been occupied with my other blog that is really important to me. If you haven’t checked it out, please do. http://www.feministtalk.wordpress.com Hopefully we will have a wonderful Spring, and I will share with you the many Spring options.

Thank you,

Thrifty Chic

Green Long Cardigan Sweater, Forever 21 Jeans, and Brown Boots

Green Sweater, Blue Jeans, and Brown Boots

Green Sweater, Blue Jeans, and Brown Boots

This season I have become overly obsessed with sweaters. I love the different styles this season, and a lot of the different trends are coming back from the 90s. Which I absolutely love. This sweater that I am wearing is the many styles for this winter, and a lot of store sell them for a decent price or over priced. So as always I try to look for a bargain. I bought this particular one from Target, which were priced at $29.99, but I purchased mine for about $14.99. I definitely saved a lot on this cardigan sweater.

My jeans are from Forever 21, and did not cost a lot. Some of their jeans are in the $20-$35 dollar range, but I actually purchased mine for about $10.80. They have a variety of colors and styles for this price. Be sure you know your size if you do not plan on trying them on because their sizes run pretty tight, so I had to go a size up.

Boots are from Discovery, and I got them a while ago, but they still have a lot of brown boots starting from $14.99-$30.00.

New Year’s Eve Gold Makeup Look: Happy New Year Everyone :)

New Year’s Eve Gold Makeup Look

For the first picture, the gold was a bit soft, and not too dramatic. I stuck with my Bare Minerals 8.0 Palette. I used three colors from that palette which are Pret-A-Porter (Gold), Ensemble ( Dark Purple), and Silhoutte (White).  My lashes are real, so I used the Benefit Mascara They’re Real. Which is amazing because it gives you  fullness and length. For my lips I have the Cargo lip gloss in Madrid. It looks burgundy in the tube, but comes off as reddish/pink.

I hardly wear gold, and this was a perfect color to wear to bring in the new year. I didn’t care that I had a silver top on, because mixing silver and gold, isn’t wrong in my opinion.

For this second picture, I put more gold on, and added actual glitter cream from NYX. My lips are different in this picture, so I used my Cover Girl lipstick called Romance.

I know it is late, but I didn’t have time to upload new posts during the Christmas and New Year’s Eve Celebration. Thanks For visiting, and Happy New Year

For some reason I have been purchasing a lot of burgundy. I really like it, and it is a beautiful color to wear. I just recently got some side bangs, which really look great ( I was nervous to get them). I was able to flip my hair to the side with a straightener. Using the same technique as a curling iron, but I believe the straightener is better than a curling tool.

I am wearing a black blazer, You can’t really see it but you probably have seen it, or can see it in my category section of blazers. I have a high waist pants from target that is very flattering to more curvy type bodies. I got it from Target and the tag said 6 fit. Which is not the size, but the number they have created are for a  curvy body type. That way it is easier for your to find your pant size.

Pants- Target (Clearance) $11.00

Top-Embellishments are very cute. New York & CO. (Clearance) $7.49

I used my Two-Faced Palette for my eyes, Benefit MAscara They’re Real, and I used the Benefit brow filler palette. I usually use the same products on my face with a Sephora Concealer, Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation, Powder FX Mineral compact, NYX Blush, and my new favorite bronzer by Cargo. The lipstick I used is more of a burgundy color from Cover Girl, but I used my Bare Minerals Pretty Amazing Lip Gloss in Confidence, to soften it up a bit.

I am continuing to use my Two Faced palette, and It really does set on my eye-lids nicely. Check out my All Types of Make-up category to see the colors. I forgot the name brand of my liquid eye-liner at the moment, but I got it from Ulta for about $7.00. I fill in my brows with the Benefit brow palette. Which costs about $30.00, but lasts a very long time. I have had it for about 2 1/2 years. My lips also have the Cover Girl, Romance lip color with a lip balm on top from Maybelline called Baby Lips in Peach Kiss (30).

I got my Barrett from Discovery for only $6.99. I seen some of these at Forever 21  ranging from $8-$12.
